CHARACTERS AVAILABLE:
Jared (17) - A Blackrock boy. Lives with his mum Diane and looks up to Ricko. Initially insists all the boys are innocent but has to come to terms with the parts they played.
Diane (30s-40s) - Jared's mother. Strong-willed but struggling to stay connected to her son who is drifting away, while dealing with her breast cancer diagnosis.
Ricko (22) - Jared's best mate who has just returned to Blackrock. Seen as a legend by the other boys but prone to aggression, and the truth of his actions are coming to light.
Rachel (17) - Girlfriend to Jared and sister to Toby. Strong sense of morality and isn't afraid to stand against her family for what she believes is right.
Cherie (15) - Jared's cousin. Torn apart by the death of her friend and grows in defiance against her family and community's reaction to the crimes committed against her friend.
Toby (18) - From the richer side of town but trying to be one of the Blackrock boys, which leads him to make a bad choice which he must face the consequences of. Mostly appears in the first half of the play.
Tiffany (21) – Ricko’s girlfriend who tries to endure his mistreatment. She is more aware of the toxic culture in the Blackrock crew and looks out for the younger members.
Shana (17) - Used to be the life of the party but after the death of her friend she closes off from the people around her. Mostly appears in the first half of the play.
Davo (17) – Blackrock boy who lives for surfing but realises that being part of the core group won’t protect him from the consequences of his actions.
Scott (16) – Blackrock boy, best mate of Davo and finds himself facing the same consequences.
Gladys Milenko/Marian Ackland (30s-40s) - Both mothers to children on different sides of the conflict. Gladys' is Cherie’s mum and Marian is mother to the Ackland kids
Stewart/Len/Roy (30s-40s) - Three different adult men, two of which are apart of the wider moral problem. Stewart is the controlling father to the Ackland family, Len is Jared’s absent dad and Roy is Gladys’ cheerful new boyfriend.
All other roles, e.g. Police Officers, are to be played by various cast members.
Stage ages are an indication only. Actors of all levels of experience, identities, abilities and backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Please note that due to the mature nature of the themes, auditionees must be at least 15, and must show parental permission if under 17.
